Welcome to the Official Vespa Club of Tampa Bay - Moto Bene! We are a group of active Vespisti* who see the Vespa scooters as more than just transportation: It's a way of life!

Join us as we explore the Tampa Bay area on our Vespa scooters. It's not just about the destination and it's not just about the journey, it's about the attitude and getting places (or getting nowhere!) in style.

*Vespisti (veh-SPEE-stee) is the Italian plural noun for enthusiastic owners, riders, and fans of Vespa scooters.

More About Vespa Club of Tampa Bay...

Who We Are

We are Vespa owners and Vespa lovers from all over the Tampa Bay area. We ARE Vespa Tampa! We have riders from Clearwater, Dunedin, Safety Harbor, Palm Harbor, Largo, Seminole, St. Petersburg, Tarpon Springs, Tampa, Hyde Park, Seminole Heights, Channel Side, the Beaches, and everywhere inbetween.

Do I Have to Pay to be a Member?

Membership in our local chapter is completely free for those who just want to participate in group rides and activities. Those who wish to actively participate in group rides should be active, paid members of the national Vespa Club of America, which we are an official chapter of.

Paid membership is available in our local chapter, as both a basic yearly membership that includes club patches, stickers, and magnets and a premium membership that also includes an exclusive annual t-shirt and discounts at participating stores. By getting a paid membership in the local club, you support the community and help pay for club support (like this website!)

Paid members also gain access to our website Community section. The Community section acts as a way for club members to communicate with one another. You also gain access to the club's Vespas for Sale section. This is handy if you are looking to buy or sell your Vespa scooter.

What is Moto Bene?

Moto Bene is both the club's slogan and a movement of its own that we hope will help promote the Italian scooter culture around the world.

We came up with the phrase 'Moto Bene' while in Italy during Vespa's 80th Anniversary. We commonly heard people saying the phrase "Molto Bene!", which translates to 'Very Good'. Meanwhile, the word 'Moto' in Italian is short for 'Motocicletta', which translates to motorbike. So, when we say "Moto Bene" it becomes a bit of a crude play on words/translated term to mean 'Good Motorcycle'. We really do think of Vespa as a Good Motorcycle... if not the best!

Who can join? Do I need to own a Vespa?

Membership is open to all Vespa owners in the Tampa Bay area and Moto Bene merch is available for everyone in the world to purchase.

Paid members and guests of paid members are always welcome, regardless of what they ride, however any person looking to ride with the group should also be an active member of the Vespa Club of America.
